چکیده

BACKGROUND Chronic active Epstein-Barr virus infection (EBV) is a systemic EBV-positive lymphoproliferative disease, which may lead to fatal illness. There currently no standard treatment regimen for chronic EBV (CAEBV), and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation the only effective treatment. We here report CAEBV patient treated with PEG-aspargase, who achieved negative EBV-DNA. CASE SUMMARY A 33-year-old female Chinese had fever approximately 3 mo was admitted our hospital in December 2017. EBV-DNA positive high copy number. She diagnosed EB infection. PEG-aspargase administered at dose of 1500 U/m2 14-d interval, resulting eradication more than 6 mo. The effect this excellent. CONCLUSION chemotherapy containing be further considered.

[Chronic active Epstein-Barr virus infection].

The ubiquitous Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), which establishes latency after primary infection, does not cause any symptomatic diseases as long as cellular immunity is intact. In apparently immunocompetent individuals, a chronic infection can develop, and this has been called as chronic active EBV infection (CAEBV). CAEBV is characterized by chronic or recurrent infectious mononucleosis-like sympto...

Elevated IgA antibodies to Epstein-Barr virus in children with chronic active Epstein-Barr virus infection.

Anti-Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) antibodies were tested in 11 children with chronic active EBV infection. Anti-virus capsid antigen (VCA)-IgG antibody titers ranged from 1:640 to 1:10,240. Anti-VCA-IgM antibody was consistently positive in 5 of the 11 patients; anti-VCA-IgA antibody was consistently positive in 6 of the 10 patients; anti-early antigen (EA)-IgG antibody was consistently positive in...

CASE PRESENTATION We describe an immune competent adult with a primary EBV infection complicated by lumbosacral polyradiculitis with pure radicular pain. Prior to the onset of radic...

PEG-aspargase and DEP regimen combination therapy for refractory Epstein–Barr virus-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis

BACKGROUND Epstein-Barr virus-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (EBV-HLH) is the most frequent subtype of secondary HLH triggered by infections. Previous studies have shown that ~30 % or more of patients with EBV-HLH do not respond to standard therapy. This study investigated the efficacy and safety profile of a modified DEP regimen in combination with PEG-aspargase (L-DEP) as a sal...
